Doctoral program is a key part of IE Department’s talent cultivation. Aiming at cultivating innovative scholars with independent research ability and international academic capacity, IE Department constantly increased investments in education, optimized educational curriculum, and promoted academic and international exchange opportunities, which made doctoral education with great improvement in quality and quantity. With the development of the doctoral program, the voices of the students should be listened when the cultivation objective and development orientation were made. 

In order to get an better understanding of students’ demands for career development and response to the University’s suggestion on education reform, with the attendance of Prof. Chen Wang, Director of Graduate Student Affairs and representatives of doctor candidates,  a symposium on doctoral education was held and hosted by Prof. Kaibo Wang, Vice Head of IE Department. Student Advisory Committee of Doctoral Education was founded in the symposium. Suggestions related to doctoral curriculum, educational objective and process were made by the doctor candidate representatives. The first six students who were enthusiastic about the department’s educational development (Yushan Li, Hao Wang, Ruidian Song, Lindong Yang, Bingxiong Lu and Zhengli Wang) were offered appointment as student committee members of the 2015-2016 academic year, who would participate in the amendment of educational plan and process, and give feedback to the department’s academic and teaching committee on the doctor candidates’ demands for career development, so that reference can be given to the doctoral program’s construction and development of the department.
